We were delighted to host a small gathering of our alumni community for the launch of our Walhampton School Foundation Trust on Friday 7th October.

The evening was kickstarted with an impassioned speech from our Head, Jonny Timms, who introduced the exciting new initiative - a collaboration between The School’s senior Strategy Team and the Board of Governors.

Iain Rawlinson, Chair of Governors, said: “Where alumni and others support the Foundation, it is a way of bringing the past into the present in a way that ennobles our traditions and provides real opportunity for future generations.” Jonny Timms added: “A Walhampton education is transformational. The launch of the Walhampton School Foundation Trust aims to broaden the reach to promising pupils who may be facing social, or economic disadvantage. Ultimately we want to provide as many children as possible with the opportunity to experience the joy of learning at Walhampton.”

The main purpose of the Trust is the provision of bursaries to enable pupils to join the School who do not otherwise have the means to pay school fees, helping to widen access across the local community and further afield via the School’s partnership with SpringBoard. 

The School will work closely with SpringBoard to identify appropriate candidates for bursary awards and support them to prepare young people for the transition to Walhampton.
