Admissions 01

ADMISSIONS

Whether you are interested in a boarding school or day schooling, Walhampton's admissions process (the same in both cases) is refreshingly straightforward and welcoming.

Having explored this website, we find that most parents look to do one of the following:

Once you’ve decided that Walhampton is a perfect fit for your child, we are here to support you through our tried and trusted registration process:

The main points of entry for children to join the Pre Prep are Nursery & Kindergarten (2+) and Reception (4+).

The main points of entry for day and boarding pupils in the Prep School is Year 3 (7+) and Year 7 (11+) where children join to prepare for the transition to senior school or, as overseas pupils, to develop their English language.

Subject to availability, we also welcome pupils joining other year groups.

We will be delighted to discuss the possibility of your child joining Walhampton and aim to make the process as friendly and straightforward as possible. The Admissions procedure is the same for all pupils, day or boarders. In the first instance and to obtain a prospectus, please contact the Registrar, on +44 (0) 1590 613300 or registrar@walhampton.com.

The Registrar will arrange an appointment for you to view Walhampton school, meet some of our staff and pupils as well as talk to the Head, Jonny Timms and/or Head of Pre Prep, Claire Holly.

Following this, you can register your child. Parents are required to make a payment of £100 and complete a registration form. We recommend that parents register their child at least one year in advance of their proposed start date. Some years are busier than others so, if you wish to register your interest for a place, it makes sense to put your child’s name down as early as possible.

Your child will then be invited to attend a Taster Day at Walhampton for familiarisation which may include an informal assessment. Following the Taster Day the Head will write and let you know if your child has been offered a place at Walhampton.

If you accept the offer you will need to pay the Acceptance Deposit of £500 at the time of signing the Parent Contract. For pupils resident overseas (including British nationals) fees in advance may be required.

Many Walhampton families have relocated to the area as well as those from further afield and overseas. If you are new to the area, the registrar can also advise on transport options and places to stay.

PUPILS LIVING OVERSEAS – VISA SPONSORSHIP

Walhampton holds a Child Student Visa License. This means we are able to sponsor overseas pupils to obtain their student visa as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Part of the Walhampton spirit is being taught to ‘never give up’ and to ‘believe in yourself’. I am so grateful to the school for helping to instil that belief in all of the children.
